The Canopy Project Kawartha Lakes (CPKL) is launching its 2023 campaign in commemoration of Earth Day, aiming to raise $30,000 to create and rejuvenate the urban canopy at schools and public spaces in Kawartha Lakes.

At the February 7 Committee of the Whole meeting, Kawartha Lakes Environmental Action Committee (KLEAC) Council representative, Councillor Warren, shared a presentation recognizing the 2022 Bee A Hero Garden Challenge winners on behalf of Bee City Canada.

With parts of Kawartha lakes still digging out from a record snow storm that struck last weekend, concerns have been expressed by federal, provincial and local authorities regarding rising temperatures and rainfall predicted at times to be heavy this weekend.

When my daughter headed off to university in 2014, we promised her a family trip to Europe after graduation.  In 2019, we fulfilled that promise. 

A $1.7 million investment over five years to support Kawartha Land Trust’s (KLT) was given today to support “Sequestering Kawarthas’ Carbon Through Partners in Conservation” project, through the ECCC’s Nature Smart Climate Solutions Fund (NSCSF).

Environmental friendliness may not come naturally to some, but at Fleming College every student and member of the staff is passionate about the environment.
