Jeanne was born on August 9, 1932 in Krimpen aan de Lek, the Netherlands. At the age of 16 she immigrated with her family to Canada. Jeanne and her husband Bob were married May 25, 1955 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Bowmanville where they started their family. Bob passed away in 1979 at the age of 46 shortly after the family moved to Grand Bend. In 1986, Jeanne moved to Lindsay with her youngest son Claude. She was a life long member of the Christian Reformed Church and faithfully attended the Jennings Creek Christian Reformed Church in Lindsay during this time. Jeanne was a volunteer at both the Red Cross and Telecare in Lindsay. She loved receiving flowers and had a skill in arranging them. She also loved birds and animals and had a fascination with nature. In August 2024, Jeanne moved to William Place Retirement Residence in Lindsay. In December of 2025 she moved to Southbridge Long Term Care in Goderich. Visitation took place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Tuesday, October 6th from 6:00 - 8:00pm, and on Wednesday, October 7th at Jennings Creek Christian Reformed Church, 206 Angeline Street North, Lindsay from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am. A light reception followed with a private family interment at Bowmanville Cemetery. If desired, a memorial donation to the Kawartha Lakes Pregnancy Centre would be appreciated by the family, as the Pregnancy Centre was dear to Jeanne's heart. The family wishes to thank the staff at both William Place residence and Southbridge LTC for their care during this difficult time in her life. Also special thanks to Dr. Tamra Steinmann and the nursing staff (notably Paige Malley) at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich for their exceptionally kind and compassionate care and concern during the last days of her life.
