17-year-old male from Lindsay arrested in connection with stabbing incident

Through their investigation, members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch identified the individual responsible for a recent stabbling incident.

On Oct. 1 investigators arrested a 17-year-old male from Lindsay in connection with the stabbing that occurred on Sept. 30. This arrest was made with the assistance of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad.

On Sept. 30, Kawartha Lakes Police Service located a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused was taken into custody without incident and held for a bail hearing. The accused has been charged with:

Assault with a Weapon
Assault Causing Bodily Harm
Obstruct Justice
Fail to Comply with a Sentence Order

Pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.
