Lindsay man charged following stabbing investigation

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, Aug. 4, members of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service received information which initiated an investigation into an alleged assault with a weapon.

Police attended and spoke with the victim, who reported that he had been stabbed in the foot by a male known to him. As a result of the investigation, officers arrested the accused. The weapon involved was also seized by police.

A 19-year-old Lindsay man was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing. He has been charged with:

• Assault with a Weapon contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code;
• Failure to Comply with a Probation Order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code; and
• Failure to Comply with a Release Order contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
