Woman injured in Logie Street stabbing; police seeking witnesses
On Sept. 30, just before 5 p.m., the Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Logie Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed that several suspects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. One suspect was located a short time later and taken into custody.
An 18-year-old male from Lakefield has been charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
The accused was later released from custody.
The investigation remains ongoing and has been assumed by the Criminal Investigations Branch.

WHAT??????????? The accused was released from custody? This is mind blowing. Please explain to the general public what this is al about. It makes no sense without further details that an accused is released after such a disturbing attack. .
